Lauren attended the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she received a degree in natural resource conservation. Upon graduating she worked for the Parker River NWR controlling invasive species and assisting with pilot marsh restoration work. Her love of backpacking then led her out to Oregon where she worked for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) and later the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) leading wetland restoration projects. Today, she is a regional coordinator for the National Wetland Inventory Team and helps ensure high quality wetland data across the US.

I am a wetland scientist with 7+ years of experience working with public agencies, research groups and environmental advocates using hands-on approaches and creative solutions to mitigate the effects of freshwater runoff along California’s coastal ecosystems. I use my analytical skills along with ecosystem knowledge and understanding to impact watershed health. I utilize my passion for the coastal environment along with wetland restoration to serve my community. Approaching my work through a lens of “thinking globally and acting locally”, I work to provide long term, effective strategies and solutions for improving and protecting both freshwater and saltwater resources.
