As a Natural Resources Project Manager, your role encompasses a wide range of responsibilities aimed at ensuring successful project outcomes and professional development of the team.

Your Day-to-Day:

Project Management: Managing natural resources projects, which involves proposal preparation, client and project management, regulatory agency coordination, jurisdictional waters evaluations, permitting, and conducting protected species surveys.

Operational Objectives: Meeting objectives in safety, quality, human resources, finances, and risk management; staffing projects and working with appropriately trained and certified personnel to maximize utilization and project profitability.

Community Leadership: Serving as a Community Leader to enhance S&ME's visibility in the community and professional organizations.

Cross-Department Coordination: Coordinating with project managers and leaders in other service lines regarding potential opportunities and providing necessary resources to win and complete projects.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Biological or Environmental Sciences from an accredited college or university
  • 5-7+ years experience with wetland delineations, stream determinations, Stream Quantification Tool (SQT), environmental permitting, mitigation, protected species surveys, and ecological surveys, and previous experience in the southeast U.S.
  • Demonstrated successful team leadership and management at a project level with a good understanding of safety policies/procedures, quality, business metrics, human resources policies/procedures, and risk management concepts
  • GIS experience and/or knowledge
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills for clients, staff, and regulatory personnel
