Natural Resource Consultant
GRWA is seeking a natural resource consultant specializing in wetland delineations, native area assessment, and tree identification. This position aims to fill a mid-level role with experience in Midwest and Northwest wetland delineation methodologies, plant identification, soils analysis, report writing, and compliance permitting. This position will be part of a team dedicated to quality ecological consulting, professional development, and customer service.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Wetland delineations
· Vegetation monitoring and floristic inventories
· Tree identification and assessment
· Habitat assessments
· Prepare reports and regulatory compliance permitting
· Collection of field data
· Utilization of GPS equipment
· Mapping interpretation
· Communicate with and advise clients based on field findings
· Maintain a basic understanding of local and federal regulatory requirements
· Work within a flexible schedule that may have irregular hours based on site specifics.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in physical or life sciences or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Three (3) years of wetland delineation experience preferred
- Experience with Midwest flora and trees
- Experience with characterizing hydric soils in the Midwest
- Experience with report writing and meeting deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Ability to work outdoors with exposure to variable weather conditions
- Ability to physically carry field equipment exceeding 10 lbs. through project areas
- Ability to work independently during fast-pace seasonal windows
- Ability to work with a team
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle
Compensation: Mid-level base pay is $60,000
