St Louis , MO , United States
Mr. Staten’s career has been focused on wetland and stream ecosystem restoration. He has been a primary or contributing designer for 24 approved and 5 proposed wetland and stream mitigation banks across Missouri and eastern Kansas encompassing almost 3,500 acres (more than 5 square miles) of restored wetland, riparian corridor, and stream habitats. These projects have resulted in significant improvements in water quality and wildlife habitat because of the protection of more than 32 miles of stream channels with greatly expanded riparian corridors, restoration of 6 miles of historical stream channels, and the creation of more than 1,000 acres of floodplain wetlands which filter pollutants, store flood waters, and provide high quality habitat for many species of wildlife. He is also the manager of Remembrance Forest, an ecosystem restoration project open to the public through memorial tree plantings and celebration tree plantings.
