Senior Wetland Ecologist/Scientist

Senior Wetland Ecologist/Scientist

Talasaea Consultants is a natural resource consulting, environmental planning, and design firm that provides services to the private sector, including renowned and long-term clients.  We are deeply committed to the protection of our environment, and we take pride in developing creative solutions for development projects that also benefit the natural world.

Through our decades of service in the Puget Sound region, we have developed an authentic reputation for our creative work and solutions, resulting in a steady flow of challenging and interesting projects.  We strongly value our team who are specialists in wetland and stream ecology, fish and wildlife habitat, site planning and landscape architecture in ecological and people-oriented settings, mitigation designs, regulatory analysis, and project permitting.

Talasaea is seeking a Senior Wetland Ecologist to join our alliance of spirited ecologists and landscape designers. Our private development projects range in size and complexity from multi-family and single-family residential communities, to retail, commercial, and industrial developments.  Projects involve wetland and stream ecological studies; critical areas delineations, ratings, typings, and impact assessments; and mitigation designs that include habitat creation, enhancement, restoration; and post-construction performance monitoring.  Landscape designs that integrate ecological components within the built environment require team collaboration that leads to consistent professional growth and dynamic team bonding.

We are located in a unique rural setting that offers diverse outdoor opportunities.   The office abuts the Tolt Pipeline Recreational Corridor, and the Cottage Lake Creek runs through the property.  We also offer an employee pea patch and ample outdoor spaces to enjoy sun-filled break times.  We are five minutes from Woodinville Wine Country and downtown Redmond.

The ideal candidate will perform and manage projects from site reconnaissance through environmental permitting. This person thrives coordinating with both internal and external team members across several disciplines, as well as with clients, governmental agencies, and contractors as part of the environmental assessment, regulatory review, site planning, and project permitting processes.

Our small office offers the opportunity to broadly experience all aspects of the business from proposal writing and budget tracking, to building relationships with various agencies, clients, and other consultants. Additionally, Talasaea strongly encourages and supports individualized professional growth.  In-office work at Talasaea is highly encouraged to foster collaboration, and we are currently considering a hybrid model of in-office and remote work.
