
Senior-Level Wetland and Permitting Practitioner

As part of our continued success, Landau Associates is seeking a Senior-Level Wetlands and Permitting Practitioner. The selected candidate would have the option to work in any one of four office locations (Seattle, Tacoma, or Kitsap, Washington, or Portland, Oregon).
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Develop connections with current and potential future clients, identify and pursue work opportunities.
- Manage projects, including developing proposals, managing contracts, tracking budgets, invoicing, managing change, communicating with project team, regulators, and clients, and providing other administrative support as required.
- Supervise and train junior and mid-level staff.
- Support all aspects of State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) threshold determinations and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation.
- Lead Biological Evaluations/Assessments.
- Support all aspects of Clean Water Act (CWA) Section 404/Rivers and Harbors Act Section 10, Washington State Fish and Wildlife Hydraulic Project Approval (HPA), Shoreline Management Act, CWA Section 401 Water Quality Certifications, and other land use and local critical areas ordinance permitting.
- Lead wetland delineations, ordinary high water (OHW) delineations, wetland mitigation monitoring studies, compensatory mitigation planning and investigations, marine shoreline assessments, and fish and wildlife habitat assessments in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations (i.e. soil, hydrology, vegetation inventory, and plant species identifications).
- Complete, verify, and review field reconnaissance and field investigations/assessments, including data collection, photo documentation, and interpretation of wetland parameters in the field.
This position is available for the candidate who has:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in biological sciences, environmental sciences, or planning.
- 10+ years of direct experience in major job duties listed above.
- Demonstrated success with client engagement and business development.
- Professional Wetland Scientist certification preferred.
- A proven track record of managing projects, establishing and being accountable for project deadlines, profitability, and budget.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Landau Associates offers an excellent compensation and benefits package in an environment that promotes personal growth and professional advancement. The salary range for this position is $110,000 – $175,000. Compensation is based on a variety of factors, including education, experience, performance, location, and internal equity.
