As a valuable member of our Environment team, you will join the Wetlands and Ecological Services Group and will work with an experienced team of project managers, scientists, and engineers throughout the Environment Business Line. You can sit in the Westfield, MA office. We offer a hybrid work environment and flexible Fridays in the summer.
Our Environment Team and Projects
Our Environment group is nearly 100 strong throughout our Northeast offices. The work we do covers site assessment, remediation, wetland science, regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and other ways we can support client work with state and local governments, utilities, private clients, industry, colleges, and hospitals.
What will you be doing?
As a Project Environmental Scientist - Wetlands, you will be doing a mixture of field work, report preparation, and permit application writing. You will coordinate with field teams performing botanical, wetlands, and wildlife surveys. You will perform natural resource surveys including inland wetland delineations, wetlands functional assessments, wildlife habitat evaluations, rare species surveys, soil characterization and plant species identification. You will coordinate with client and project teams for permit requirements and prepare permit applications and technical reports. You will also be involved in environmental compliance monitoring and participate in public hearings.
What do you need?
You should have 5+ years of experience working as a Project Environmental Scientist - Wetlands in environmental consulting or a similar field with a BS or MS in an environmental or natural sciences field with coursework in biology, hydrology, botany, and soils. You should have a demonstrated ability to independently lead wetland delineation and field data collection and some experience with permitting at the federal, state, and local level. You should also have technical writing skills and presentation skills. You should like being outside and have the willingness to work in physically challenging outdoor situations in all types of weather and traveling on an as-needed basis to project sites.

The salaries are determined based on internal equity and market analysis and will vary based on the candidate’s skill and experience; the salary range for this position is $61,000 - $96,000.
