The Coastal Biogeochemistry Lab under the direction of Dr. Havalend Steinmuller in the School of Marine and Environmental Sciences at the University of South Alabama (USA) and the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (DISL) has an opening for qualified students interested in pursuing a PhD. Projects span a range of topics centered on coastal ecosystems, biogeochemical cycling, and sea-level rise. All fellowships/assistantships offer competitive pay ($21,000 to $24,000), student health insurance and tuition remission.

Students may be based in newly renovated facilities on the USA campus in Mobile, AL or at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab (www.disl.edu). Students should contact Dr. Steinmuller as soon as possible to attend a recruitment weekend in late January.
