We partner with our clients to locate the best locations for renewable energy development, evaluate environmental and permitting constraints, conduct natural resource surveys, obtain environmental and development permits, and help our clients meet their solar, wind, and battery storage project milestones. We often facilitate development of a renewable energy project from its infancy at prospecting through completion of construction.
Job Description: Energy Renewal Partners is seeking an experienced wetland scientist to join our team in Austin, Texas. This role is a full-time, salaried position performed from ERP’s Austin, Texas office.
Primary responsibilities will focus on leading and conducting wetland and stream delineations for renewable energy projects, preparing delineation reports, educating clients on minimizing impacts to aquatic resources, and permitting. Additional responsibilities will include conducting habitat assessments for protected species, wildlife surveys, environmental and permitting reviews for renewable energy projects, and oversight of safety measures. Overnight travel to project sites is required to conduct fieldwork (typically 50-60% travel).
Qualifications: We’re looking for candidates with a Bachelor of Science of Master of Science degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, or a related field. A solid understanding of the Clean Water Act, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers wetland and stream delineation requirements, and Section 404 permitting is required. PWC certification is a plus, but not required. Excellent written and oral communication skills, critical thinking skills, and independent time management skills are required.
Successful candidates will have at least three years of wetland delineation experience. We’re looking for a colleague who is diligent, would like to learn from the team, share their own knowledge, and impress clients with a job well done.
