WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Alder Environmental LLC, located in Jackson Hole, WY and serving the northern Rocky Mountains, is seeking candidates for a full-time, mid to senior level consulting position.  Candidates shall have technical expertise in the disciplines of stream restoration, channel morphology, hydrology, watershed science, fisheries habitat, GIS, and stream restoration design and implementation.  This consulting position will work under the direction of the Principal and Senior Consultants to conduct stream surveys, produce geomorphic data analysis, prepare assessment reports and maps, prepare restoration designs, conduct project site inspections, and prepare regulatory permit applications.  We are willing to consider a remote position in the northern Rocky Mountains region.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Stream geomorphic and habitat surveys and assessments

Stream restoration, enhancement, and bank stabilization design

Hydrologic investigations and assessments

Surface and groundwater quality sampling and monitoring

Regulatory permit application preparation

Coordination and supervision of stream restoration construction

• Data management and interpretation; GIS map preparation; Report writing
• Communication and coordination with federal and local agencies and private entities

Project support to other watershed and environmental projects

WHAT YOU’LL NEED:

Minimum B.S. in the fluvial geomorphology, hydrologic science, watershed science, water resources, geological or earth sciences, or related field; Preferred M.S. or specific river restoration training

Minimum 5 years relevant professional work experience in the western states

Experience collecting stream survey field data and fluvial geomorphic methodologies

Experience designing and managing stream restoration and enhancement projects

Experience with modeling/assessing sediment transport and sediment collection

Experience with technical report writing and data management

Experience with preparing environmental regulatory permit applications

Expertise in GIS mapping software (ESRI ArcMap); Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus

Excellent verbal and written communication skills     

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently and collaborate with the team

Sense of humor and the ability to have fun
