
Fluvial Geomorphologist / Stream Restoration Specialist

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:
Alder Environmental LLC, located in Jackson Hole, WY and serving the northern Rocky Mountains
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Stream geomorphic and habitat surveys and assessments
Stream restoration, enhancement, and bank stabilization design
Hydrologic investigations and assessments
Surface and groundwater quality sampling and monitoring
Regulatory permit application preparation
Coordination and supervision of stream restoration construction
- Data management and interpretation; GIS map preparation; Report writing
- Communication and coordination with federal and local agencies and private entities
Project support to other watershed and environmental projects
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
Minimum B.S. in the fluvial geomorphology, hydrologic science, watershed science, water resources, geological or earth sciences, or related field; Preferred M.S. or specific river restoration training
Minimum 5 years relevant professional work experience in the western states
Experience collecting stream survey field data and fluvial geomorphic methodologies
Experience designing and managing stream restoration and enhancement projects
Experience with modeling/assessing sediment transport and sediment collection
Experience with technical report writing and data management
Experience with preparing environmental regulatory permit applications
Expertise in GIS mapping software (ESRI ArcMap); Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated,
Sense of humor and the ability to have fun
