Outstanding growth opportunity for an environmental professional looking to join a team of respected individuals known for their quality environmental and planning services. Position location is flexible depending on qualifications; however, MJ's Concord, NH or Westford, MA office is preferred.
Perform natural resource surveys, including wetland delineation, wildlife habitat evaluations, geomorphic stream assessments, and vegetation surveys; prepare technical reports and environmental documents, complete federal, state, and local permit applications; prepare public meeting materials and attend meetings. This position involves a significant amount of field work and travel.
-Must have a bachelor’s degree in Biology, Ecology, Natural Resources, Environmental Science, or a directly related field, with 3 - 7 years of progressive experience.
-Experience with completing wetland delineations, identifying plant species, and characterizing soils is strongly preferred.
-Must have ability and willingness to work independently, outdoors in all types of conditions and to travel on an intermittent basis to project sites throughout the Northeast.
-Must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation for remote job site locations.
-Experience with transportation and aviation projects, NEPA, MEPA, and SEQR documentation, climate change resiliency compliance, and/or permitting preferred.
-Experience with Trimble GPS units, Pathfinder, and GIS mapping tools such as ArcMap is a plus but not required.
-40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification is a plus but not required.
-Consulting experience is a plus but not required.
-Strong writing and analytical skills, excellent speaking and organizational skills, with ability to work independently required.
